Discover spectacular routes by mountain bike and enjoy breathtaking views of Merano and the surrounding mountains. Merano 2000 can be seen at its best on two wheels.
TOUR TO KREUZJÖCHL RIDGE

The starting point of this tour is the parking lot at Falzeben. From there, travel by Gondola to the Merano 2000 mountain station (Piffinger Köpfl mountain restaurant) and then along route No. 18, passing Waidmannalm mountain pasture on the way to Meranerhütte mountain hut. From there, the E5 European Long Distance Trail leads up to Kreuzjöchl (1,984 m) and then bears to the right towards route No.15.
After Maiser Alm pasture, continue along route no. 17. After crossing a bridge, you will need to disembark from your bike and push it for a short distance. Following route No. 14, return to the starting point at Falzeben.
PANORAMIC ROUTE WITH MITTAGER CHAIRLIFT

From the Merano 2000 mountain station at Piffinger Köpfl mountain restaurant, follow trail No. 3 and then turn onto route No. 18A and follow it up to the valley station of the Mittager Chairlift. The lift is comfortable and equipped with special brackets for bikes, reaching an altitude of 2,290 m. From there you can enjoy a breathtaking natural spectacle.
Descend via route No. 10 towards Öttenbacher Alm pasture and then take route No. 10A and No. 14 past Meraner Hütte mountain hut and Kirchsteigeralm mountain pasture. Route No 18A takes you back to the starting point, while you can also take route No. 14 to the Falzeben parking lot, from where you can continue on to Avelengo/Hafling or Merano/Meran.
OVER THE JÖCHER RIDGES TO STOARNERNE MANDLN

Less work, more fun!
It takes a little more than 800 meters of effort before you are rewarded with an impression which is not easily forgotten. From the Merano 2000 mountain station, keeping Meraner Hütte mountain hut in view, continue along the gentle uphill incline. Then pedal over the Kreuzjoch ridge, the highest point of the route, and over to Auener Jöchl ridge.
When you reach Stoanerne Mandln stone figures or even earlier, you will want to get out the camera, as a backdrop of over 100 stone pyramids is reason enough to capture the moment. Return to the mountain station by the same route.
Route in detail:
from Piffinger Köpfl (Merano 2000 Ropeway mountain station) along route No. 3, with a short cut via route No. 17 up to Waidmannweg trail 18A. Go past Waidmannalm pasture (1,998 m) and Meranerhütte mountain hut (1,960m) and onto the E5 European Long Distance Trail, continuing to Kreuzjöchl (1,984 m) and to Auener Jöchl (1,926 m). Route No. 23 leads to Stoanerne Mandln (2,003 m). Return via the same route.
VIA KESSELBERG TO MITTAGER

From the Merano 2000 mountain station, Piffinger Köpfl, follow route No. 18A to Waidmannalm mountain pasture. Take route No. 3 towards Missensteinjoch ridge and turn right onto route No. 13. From there travel uphill to Kesselberghütte mountain hut (2,300 m), before continuing to the Grosser Mittager mountain (2,422 m), with its unique viewing platform.
Descend via route No. 10 towards Öttenbacher Alm mountain pasture and then take route No. 10A and No. 14 past Meraner Hütte mountain hut and Kirchsteigeralm mountain pasture. Route No. 18A takes you back to the starting point, but it is also possible to take route No. 14 to the Falzeben parking lot, from where you can continue to Avelengo/Hafling or Merano/Meran.
ASCEND TO KUHLEITEN MOUNTAIN HUT

From the Merano 2000 mountain station, Piffinger Köpfl, follow route No. 3 to just above Waidmannalm mountain pasture. From there continue uphill along route No. 19A until reaching Kuhleitenhütte mountain hut (2,361 m).
At the foot of Mount Ivigna, you can enjoy a unique view of the nearby mountains. In clear weather you can see the Dolomites and the Texelgruppe Nature Park. Return via the same route.
