Hut to Hut

This scrumptious hike starts at the mountain station of Merano 2000, which can be conveniently reached by ropeway from Val di Nova or on the gondola lift from Falzeben. The first inn along this scenic route is Rifugio Piffinger Köpfl. From there, continue along trail no. 18A to the Malga Waidmann inn. Then take trail no. 3-4 to the Malga Kirchsteiger inn for magnificent cakes and pies.

Belly full? Time to make room for more: Head on to nearby Rifugio Meraner. From there, trails no. 17 and 14 will take you to Rifugio Parete Rossa, where you can choose between two options: Either head along trail no. 18, which winds up the hillside all the way to the ropeway mountain station, or hike downhill past Rifugio Zuegg and on to the valley station of the Falzeben gondola lift for even more tempting restaurants and inns.

This simple circular hike features an endless array of gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and many inviting inns and restaurants with ample terraces that are perfect for basking in the sun and pampering yourself with irresistible treats from the Alpine and Mediterranean cuisines.
