Merano 2000, the "sun deck" of the spa town of Merano, is located at the foot of the scenic Ivigna peak at only a few minutes' distance from the nearby holiday resorts of Merano, Avelengo, Scena and Tirolo.
The mountain station of Merano 2000 can be conveniently reached with two different lifts: either on the ropeway from Val di Nova just outside Merano or by gondola from Falzeben near Avelengo.

By bus
Getting to the valley station of the Merano 2000 ropeway:
- From Merano city centre or the train station, take bus no. 1, which will take you to the valley station of the Merano 2000 ropeway at Val di Nova in just under 20 minutes.
- The new bus 227 ‘Maia Bassa - Merano 2000’ connects Maia Alta with Maia Bassa railway station and the valley station of the Ropeway.
- From Scena, the tourist bus service also regularly runs to the ropeway valley station at Val di Nova.
Getting to the gondola at Falzeben:
- From Merano city centre or the train station, take bus no. 225 (MERANO – AVELENGO – VERANO/FALZEBEN), which will take you to the valley station of the Merano 2000 gondola at Falzeben in around 45 minutes.
- From Avelengo and Verano, the Skibus and Monzoccolo shuttle bus service also regularly runs to the gondola valley station.
By car
Getting to the valley station of the Merano 2000 ropeway:
On the SS38 (MEBO) highway, take the exit Sinigo/Merano Sud. From there or from anywhere in the city centre, follow the signs to Avelengo. At the junction towards Scena, continue straight ahead towards Avelengo and turn right onto the ropeway car park at Val di Nova after about 1 km.
Opposite the bus stop, below the exit of the Ropeway, there is a charging station for electric cars.
Getting to the gondola lift at Falzeben:
Follow the directions for the ropeway valley station but do not enter the car park at Val di Nova: Instead, go past the ropeway valley station and continue driving towards Avelengo. After several tunnels, turn left at the petrol station and follow the signs to Merano 2000/Falzeben. The road winds uphill for a few kilometres, all the way to the Falzeben car park and the valley station of the gondola lift.
Parking areas
At the valley station of the Ropeway you can park for free.
In Falzeben the parking are is feebased.
