FROM FALZEBEN TO THE ALPIN-BOB AND BACK DOWN IN A FLASH
This easy hike from Falzeben to the mountain station of Merano 2000 is ideal for families and inexperienced hikers.
From the Falzeben car park above Avelengo, the hike runs gently uphill to Rifugio Zuegg on a 35-minute walk along trail no. 14. Much to the delight of our younger guests, the Zuegg inn has a pond with ducks, frogs and turtles. Alternatively, the Rifugio Parete Rossa inn is easily reached after only ten more minutes' hiking. Both restaurants have a large playground.
From either of the two restaurants, simply continue uphill to the mountain station – perhaps with a stopover at the Outdoor Kids Camp – and hop on the Alpin-Bob summer toboggan run. After a rapid and exhilarating descent that will save you half of your walk back, simply follow the hiking trail back to Falzeben.
