Hiking

You were only ever there if you went there on foot

The sun-soaked hiking resort of Merano 2000 is an irresistible invitation to swap the bustling city for a day out and about in nature at 2000 m above sea-level: Revel in stunning panoramic views stretching as far as the Ortles range and the Dolomites, our very own UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A number of hiking trails run from Falzeben and Pivigna all the way to the remote, solitary Lake San Pancrazio. Other popular destinations on the soft-rolling plateau include Kuhleiten (2363 m), Kesselberg (2300 m), Mittager (2422 m) and Passo della Croce.

For anyone in need of a peaceful time-out to recharge the batteries and let the mind, body and soul relax, Merano 2000 has countless powerful places of great energy in store – from the small mountain-top chapel dedicated to St Oswald to the Missenstein mountain pass.
And be sure not to miss out on the Stone Men, a spectacular hilltop plateau covered in dramatically tall stacks of rocks!
