TO THE KREUZJÖCHL
CIRCULAR HIKE VIA QUAINT MOUNTAIN HUTS
A hike that boasts views of the entire area and takes in rustic chalets and mountain pastures, which, with their delicious and typical dishes served on sun-kissed terraces invite you to stop for a while and enjoy.
Once at the mountain station of the Merano 2000 cable car, you can reach the Naifjoch in comfort via the new Naifjoch Cableway, from where the hike continues onwards to the Meraner Alpine Hut via the Waidmann Alpine Cottage. From there the route takes you to the Kreuzjöchl with its spectacular, expansive views of the surrounding mountain chains and the city of Merano, from which the tributary valleys extend outwards. Make yourself at home over the breadth of the col and enjoy the view – can you guess the names of a couple of the mountain summits?
After a rest, you can continue your hike towards the Maiser and Moschwald Alpine Cottage – delicious meals are waiting to be tasted. Not long afterwards you’ll come to Falzeben, from where you can return to your starting point via the Falzeben Gondola.
! Tip: Use the Summer-Day-Ticket to combine a return trip up and down the mountain with any open lift for a discounted price.
