How long does it take to travel by Ropeway Merano 2000?

A one-way trip with the cable car takes 7 minutes. Departures are scheduled every 15 minutes.

How is the Family-Ticket composed?

The Family-Ticket is only valid for families with chidren between the age of 8 to 18 and can include up to 2 parents. If children are aged under 8, they are free of charge and parents have to pay the regular price.
The Family-Ticket is also applicable to a single parent with a children.

From which age is one considered to be a Senior?

One is considered to be a Senior over the age of 60.

Is there also a GuestCard discount with the Family-Ticket?

The Family-Ticket is already reduced and therefore a further GuestCard discount is not applicable.

From how many persons do group discounts apply?

Group discounts can be applied for groups starting from 10 persons.

Is the parking Naif and Falzeben free?

The parking Naif at the base station of the Ropeway is free of charge, while the parking in Falzeben at the base station of the Gondola is subject to a parking fee.

Is it allowed to stay overnight at the parking areas Naif or Falzeben?

It is prohibited to stay in the parking areas over night.

Is it possible to travel for free with the lifts, if I have the Abo+ or the GuestCard?

Both with the Abo+/Südtirolpass as well as the GuestCard you cannot travel for free. However, at their presentation discounts are applied.

What is the difference between Naif and Falzeben? Where are the 2 base stations?

The base station ‘Val di Nova’ of the Ropeway is located closely above the city of Merano and can be reached by car or public transport (Urban Bus 1A).

The base station ‘Falzeben’ of the Gondola is located in the municipality of Avelengo and is 12km away from the base station Naif. It can be reached by car or public transport (Extraurban Coach 225).

Is it obligatory for dogs to wear a muzzle?

The Provincial Government´s Resolution Nr. 3514 from 27.09.2004 prescribes the wearing of a muzzle for the transport of dogs in Ropeways.
To transport a dog in the Gondola only the dedicated ticket must be purchased, while a muzzle is not needed.

Is it possible to pay by card in the Merano 2000 area? Which cards are accepted at the cash desks?

Yes, it is possible to pay with Debit and Credit Cards except for American Express at the cash desks.

What are the departure times for the public transport to Merano/Scena/Avelengo?

Is there an ATM?

No, there is no ATM at the base and mountain stations of the lifts, but it is possible to pay with Debit and Credit Cards except for American Express at the cash desks of Merano 2000.

Is there a lost and found?

All lost items that have been returned are stored at the base station of the Ropeway.

How can we spend our day on Merano 2000 with children?

Directly at the mountain station of Merano 2000 you will find an Outdoor Kids Camp. It features wooden facilities where kids can run, climb, balance, jump, play, grasp, discover and explore in safety. There is also a Mini-Ranch with ponies, goats and bunnies. At the same location you will also find the Alpin Bob, which is a rail toboggan track.
Moreover, there are several hiking paths suited for walks with kids and/or baby carriages. More experienced and climbing-eager kids can also climb the via ferrata Heini Holzer.

What are the opening times of the Alpin Bob ?

The Alpin Bob is open daily from 10.00h to 16.30h. The opening time extends until 17.15h in the months from July to September.
Be aware: In case of a thunderstorm or rain the Alpin Bob will temporarily close or remain closed.

From what age on are children allowed to ride on the Alpin Bob?

Children starting from the age of 3 are allowed to ride the Alpin Bob together with someone at least 16 years old. From the age of 10 on, children can ride the Alpin Bob on their own.

How many people are allowed to ride the Alpin Bob at once?

A maximum of 2 persons are allowed to ride the Alpin Bob together.

How long does a ride with the Alpine Bob take?

The downhill ride will last about 3-5 minutes, while the ride back up lasts 4-5 minutes.

Does the Alpin Bob track reach down until the valley station of either the Ropeway or the Gondola Falzeben?

No, the Alpin Bob track does not reach either of the two base stations. However, during the summer season it is possible to get off at the base station of the Alpin Bob and hike for about 20 minutes to the valley station of the Gondola Falzeben and the parking area Falzeben.

Are pregnant women allowed to ride the Alpin Bob?

No, it is forbidden for pregnant women to ride the Alpin Bob.

The Outdoor Kids Camp is open to the public and free of charge.

The Mini-Ranch is open from June until September at daily times from 10.30 - 12.00 and 15.00 - 16.00.

Which hikes are suitable for baby carriages?

The hiking path leading past the Zuegg alpine hut, the Rotwand alpine hut and the Waidmann alpine hut are fairly easy hiking tours, also suitable for trekking-baby carriages.

Which alpine huts have a playground for children?

The Zuegg, Rotwand, and Meraner Hut, the Waidmannalm, the Restaurant Falzeben and the Panorama Bistro all have a playground for children.

Is it possible to hike from the mountain station Merano 2000 to the valley station of the Ropeway?

It is possible to hike from the mountain station to the base station of the Ropeway on a long and steep trail, which we do not recommend to inexperienced hikers.
In smmer it is, however, possible to shorten the hike by using the Ropeway’s middle station.

Which hiking tours are recommended for baby carriages and/or wheelchairs?

The hiking trails are not accessible on a wheelchair. However, it is possible to reach the mountain station of Merano 2000 on a wheelchair through the Ropeway or the Gondola since
both their entrances are accessible over a ramp. Once at the mountain station, the terrace of the Panorama Bistro with a breathtaking view is accessible through an elevator or it is possible to reach the closeby Restaurant ‘Piffinger Köpfl’.
Moreover, persons with a disability are allowed to ride on the Alpin Bob with a companion.

The hiking-tour from Falzeben to the mountain station or from the mountain station to the Waidmann alpine hut are fairly easy hiking tours, also suitable for ‘trekking’-baby carriages.

Is there a hiking trail that leads from the mountain station to the valley station of the Ropeway?

Yes, there is a long and steep hiking trail, which we do not recommend to inexperienced hikers, connecting the mountain station to the valley station of the Ropeway. In Summer it is, however, possible to shorten the hike by using the Ropeway’s middle station.

Which hikes can be made departing from the middle station?

The hiking path Nr. 3 leads from the middle station to the Restaurant ‘Gsteier’. The hike continues mostly even to the ‘Greiterhof’. On the path Nr. 40 you can then reach the ‘Taser Alm’ in Scena. Total walking time is approximately 3h 45min.
Departing from the middle station of the Ropeway you can also reach the mountain station of Merano 2000 through the path Nr. 3, although we suggest decent hiking experience due to its length and steepness.
